Yacht Ganesh
About Yacht Ganesh
Ganesh is not a charter yacht that spends every Saturday changing guests in a marina. She is a true expedition yacht and, for the last eight years, a full-time home at sea. Built from steel for long-distance cruising, she was chosen not for luxury or fashion but for reliability, comfort and the freedom to explore places beyond the usual tourist routes.
Every expedition aboard Ganesh is different. There are no rigid itineraries designed months in advance and no entertainment programs prepared for large tourist groups. Wind, weather and the interests of the crew all play their part. Some days are spent sailing between Greek islands under full canvas, others anchored in quiet bays where the loudest sound is the water against the hull. With three comfortable guest cabins, spacious living areas and equipment designed for extended cruising, Ganesh provides everything needed for authentic adventures at sea while preserving the relaxed atmosphere of a real cruising yacht.
Expedition Philosophy
Life aboard is part of the experience. Guests are invited to become members of the crew rather than passive passengers. Anyone interested can learn how to steer the yacht, trim sails, help with navigation, anchor safely or simply understand how a modern cruising yacht operates. No previous sailing experience is required—only curiosity and a willingness to try something new.
These voyages are designed for travelers who value experiences over luxury. There are no fixed entertainment programs, crowded tourist attractions or hotel routines. Every expedition develops naturally, shaped by the weather, the sea and the people on board. Whether you choose to take an active role in sailing or simply enjoy peaceful days exploring hidden islands and secluded anchorages, the journey becomes something shared rather than something performed for you.
Meet Your Skipper
Ganesh is skippered by Alexey Sukhoverkhov, an RYA-certified skipper, journalist, writer and entrepreneur who chose the sea as his permanent home more than eight years ago. His sailing background combines professional RYA training with years of practical liveaboard experience throughout the Mediterranean, giving guests the confidence that comes from both formal qualifications and everyday life under sail.
Beyond sailing, Alexey believes that every expedition should be remembered not only for the places visited but also for the stories created along the way. Evenings in the cockpit, conversations under a sky full of stars, learning new skills and discovering remote corners of Greece often become the moments people remember long after returning home. That is the spirit behind every expedition aboard Yacht Ganesh.
