Long before ferries, airports and modern navigation connected the islands of the Aegean, these waters carried philosophers, merchants, explorers and sailors whose ideas helped shape Western civilization. This expedition follows their world, combining authentic sailing with the history, archaeology and culture of one of the most remarkable regions of the Mediterranean.

Departing from Chios aboard Yacht Ganesh, we sail toward the islands that witnessed the lives of some of antiquity’s greatest thinkers. The voyage includes the island of Samos, birthplace of Pythagoras, where we explore the ancient sanctuary of Hera, the remarkable Tunnel of Eupalinos and the landscapes that inspired one of history’s most influential philosophers. Along the way we visit traditional harbors, quiet villages and secluded anchorages that preserve the timeless atmosphere of the Aegean.

This is not a cruise with a strict timetable. Like ancient mariners, we adapt our route to the wind and the sea, allowing weather and local conditions to shape the expedition. Some evenings are spent anchored beneath a sky full of stars, while others end in welcoming island tavernas where history naturally becomes part of the conversation.

No previous sailing experience is required. Guests are invited to take part in sailing the yacht, learn the basics of seamanship and discover the North Aegean from the perspective of those who traveled these waters more than two thousand years ago. It is a journey that combines history, adventure and the simple pleasure of life under sail.
